Eden Island, man-made though by first time visitors often mistaken as a ‘real island’ continues to be the success story it was intended to become, when the idea was first launched a few years ago.

Now largely complete, with shopping, offices, apartments, condominiums, residences and of course the all important marina, the island today has 580 completed residential units available, of which some 460 have now been sold.

Air Seychelles Ups Flights

Following the recent arrival of Air Seychelles’ first Airbus A330-200, the airline has announced that it will double its Johannesburg services to four return flights a week from 1 December.

Air Seychelles Hosts Manchester City Seychelles Soccer School 2013

President James Michel received Patrick Vieira from Manchester City FC at State House last week.  Mr Vieira is currently in the country to lead a series of soccer clinics for young Seychellois athletes who wish to further develop their talents in this sport.

President Michel welcomed him to the Seychelles and conveyed his appreciation and gratitude for coming here.

Agnes Gerry is Crowned Miss Seychelles

Agnes Gerry was crowned Miss Seychelles 2013 at a spectacular event held at the Eden Plaza on Saturday 25 May.  She will go on to represent Seychelles at the Miss World 2013 pageant taking place in Indonesia in September.  The first runner up was Aisha Hoareau and second runner up was Lindy Barallon.

Seychelles tourism earnings jump 17% in 2012

(Reuters) - Tourism earnings in the Seychelles rose by 17 percent to 3 billion rupees ($250.83 million), the National Bureau of Statistics said on Friday.

Air Seychelles increases international route capacity

Air Seychelles recently introduced an Airbus A330-200 aircraft on its international routes and doubled its Mahe–Abu Dhabi return services from two to four a week. The aircraft and schedule change increase the airline’s international route capacity by approximately 40 per cent.

President Zuma in Seychelles for Madagascar meeting

President Jacob Zuma of South Africa arrived in Seychelles early this morning for an important meeting with the rival political leaders of Madagascar. 

President Zuma, the chairman of SADC, was met at the airport by President James Michel, who is hosting current leader Andriy Rajaelina and former President Marc Ravalomanana on the resort island of Desroches.  The South African and Seychellois presidents flew to Desroches for the conclusion of SADC and Indian Ocean Commission (IOC) efforts to resolve the political issues of Madagascar.
