Throughout history design has always been evolutionary. Building on known principles, improving on tradition and expanding on the tried and tested, it offers a sense of belonging unique to the local vernacular. It offers a sense of place.

Nowhere can this be seen more prominently than in the evolution of architecture in the Seychelles. The architectural style is more than just a melting pot of ideas – it is a way of life. It is design charged with symbolism and functionality, infused with history.
The earliest visitors to the Seychelles – from the Polynesians, Arabs, Chinese and Indians to the French and British seafarers, bringing Victorian colonialism to the islands – instilled a unique character through different skills, traditions and styles. And together they created a culture that is today distinctly Seychelles.

It is this culture, these ideas, this way of life that were the inspiration behind the architecture on Eden Island and the design of its Villas. From the grandeur of the Victorian era to the spaciousness of the plantation manor houses, the Villas represent the best of the islands.
